Captain America: Reviewers War

WARNING !

This post contains major spoilers for civil war, so if you don’t want spoilers just gaze upon the lovely artwork accompanying it then move along.

Batman dies.

Hey Everyone
So most superhero films in general are about defeating the bad guy and saving the people. Civil War is about what does it mean to be a superhero and how many casualties must there be before a law has to be set in motion.

So team wise it isTeam Iron Man-War Machine -Vision-Spiderman-Black Panther
Team Captain America -Flacon-Winter Soldier -Hawkeye-Ant/Giant Man-Scarlet Witch
The people who switch-Agent 13-Black Widow
These teams are pretty well split however a issue with them is that to add them into the film it is very sudden and there is no build up for example Hawkeye appears after a small discussion about his retirement, Spider Man has a slight build up but not enough and Ant Man just gets kidnapped and appears with no explanation whatsoever. The story moves pretty well however you're not sure if there is already teams and you have very little clue as to what's going on with the actual sides. This feels like a filler film and not a Captain America film but you do still have the sense it's all about how Steve has to deal with his options.
A issue with this film is that when Spider-Man is not on screen you don't get the same sense as OMG because he is too good. Giant Man was a bit odd but it worked well and Peters reference to Star Wars and his many other jokes made that  scene great.
The film does set up well for Spider-Man Homecoming but not for Doctor Strange which is odd. The humour of this movie makes it amazing but the film can also be deadly serious.
The fight scenes are great however without Spider-Man the airport scene would have been not as good and the intro fight was probably a better fight using everyone's abilities and Redwing  (RIP Birdy)
-Crossbones
-Redwing
-Peggy Carter
-T'Chaka
-War Machine is crippled
-Cap has given up
-Bucky is frozen
-Falcon, Ant Man, Hawkeye and the others have gone into hiding
Overall this film in my opinion is a 9.8/10
I'm definitely going to rewatch this film in cinemas if I can actually find a seat…
It was however a good film, and like Bryce I probably will go and watch it again, it has all the humour and charm you would expect from a Marvel film and does the role of setting up Phase Three rather well so it is worth the watch. If anything it’s made me more excited for Doctor Strange in a few months (End credit scene would have been nice though..). So overall i’d give Civil war an 8 out of 10.

The brand new additions make this film so perfect being Spider-Man and Black Panther. Spider-Man is very reminiscent of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man and their Peter Parker is very similar but from the 10 minutes you see Tom Holland has clearly nailed the role. Black Panther truly is everything Marvel wants him to be: Powerful, rich, mysterious and justice seeking. He understands what is happening and has a good motivation to go and kill Bucky unlike other characters *cough* Doctor Doom *Cough*

Baron Zemo dominates half of the film but never puts on the suit which makes him just like any other villain. His character is definitely the most human villain and has a good reason to cause a civil war.

So the people that died/casualties are
-Howard and Maria Stark (At the hands of Bucky)

Now usually it’s Bryce who dislikes the films, but strangely enough I’m the one with the negative opinion this time, now don’t get me wrong it was good but it wasn’t amazing. It was better than both the avengers films but personally I prefered Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

-Cross bones is completely wasted, instead of saving him for a future story, perhaps the death of Captain America which followed the civil war comic, he just blows himself up in an attempt to kill Cap.
-I hate Bucky, he just doesn’t seem like a compelling character, I get that he is Cap’s friend, but the world, and Tony, have all right to hate him and want his arrest. Also I hate Bucky
-What the deal with Zemo, he was supposed to be the main villain right? Firstly there was no purple mask at all, I wouldn’t mind him not wearing it but at least a hint toward it somewhere like in the hotel room or something.
-There’s also this sub-plot with the other winter soldiers, confused? Basically they make them out to be even stronger than the winter soldier and they could pose a huge threat to the world, would make a good final battle possibly. So what do they do with them, Zemo kills them in their sleep, yet more wasted characters.
-The airport scene was by far the best in the movie, but unfortunately it just kind of felt to short, it did show off the powers of everyone mostly well (and yes Bryce Spider-Man was rather exceptional) but I digress, it was still a good scene.
-End Credit scenes, the first one was okay they just put Bucky back into a cryogenic tube, so Steve wasted a movie looking for him pretty much, and the second one set up Spider-Man I suppose? Although for my opinion on it I will quote Lewis ‘You made me sit there to watch a teenager but a fucking towel on his head and look at some lights!?”
-My biggest problem however with this movie is that NO HERO BLOODY DIES, infact that’s a problem I have with Marvel as a whole, almost no major characters die or stay dead, and if they do die they’re not given proper character development (I’m looking at you quicksilver). I like Rhodey but if they were going to cripple him they may as well of just killed him off, giving Tony even more reason to pursue Cap.
